The C&L Garden in southwestern Beijing’s Mentougou district received more than 100 international guests from outside China on May 13.
Most of them are fathers who took their children and went camping in the garden in the suburbs, where tents and various children’s recreational experiences were prepared.
Many of them visited the garden in 2022, says Guan Jing, who runs the garden and has noticed it’s a tradition for those fathers and children to spend time together during the Mother’s Day to bond while giving the mothers a break.
Their enthusiasm to take their children out for fun experiences has increased after the COVID-19 controls were lifted, Guan says.
The garden has planted nearly 100 kinds of plants and developed distinctive horticultural class for children.
“They can learn to identify plants under the guide of our faculty, and plant flowers with their own hands,” Guan says.
